Poor performance for high priceNov 16, 2009 Not easy to use, cannot always easily guide you to where you want to go.
We had some frustrating times with this thing. After just two years the battery gave in and we customer support told me it was not worth changing it.
Although in once instance customer support patiently guided me through some updating issues, that was pretty much the only positive experience.
So, that was the end of it. I will not buy TomTom again.
TomTom GO920Nov 10, 2009 I highly recommend TomTom GO 920; besides for US maps, it has pre-loaded European maps, and I am using it during my frequent travel to Europe where it works perfectly, everywhere; an additional purchase of this product made a perfect Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law living in Austria, and they are very happy with "their" TomTom;
One flawOct 20, 2009 I love this unit, except when it rains. It doesn't get a signal and we are stuck. Even when it is just overcast it takes a while. The options are great though. We are in Germany so I don't know if the same problem exists in the states. We got this one because it came with Europe, not just Germany. Other than that we love it and are so happy to have a GPS!
Tom Tom Go 920Oct 11, 2009 I have looked everywhere for a 920 at a reasonable price (mine was stolen a few weeks before my trip to Europe). For the price and the convenience of not having to get a separate Europe download, even the express delivery fee was very reasonable. It was still a few hundred $ less than if I get one from the store. And it worked very well when I used it in Germany.
Piece of junk, horrible warranty serviceOct 05, 2009 TomTom is without any doubt the WORSE GPS unit/ Customer service / Warranty service of ANY GPS manufacturer.
My first TomTom the on/off switch was so flimsy it would turn the unit on by itself while it was sitting in the car or on a desk. TomTom finally replaced that one under warranty, but the reconditioned repair they sent runs out of battery power after 45 minutes without being plugged in. When turned off fully charged, the battery will be completely dead within a week WITHOUT the unit being turned on.
I called TomTom customer service, and their warranty department tells me they WILL NOT WARRANTY REPLACE a GPS unit that runs at least 30 minutes under battery power. Also, they told me it was normal for their GPS units to run the battery down within a week WHILE TURNED OFF, and will only replace it under warranty if the battery dies completely within 2-3 days while the unit is turned off.
To recap, TomTom warranty says a fully charged battery only lasts 30 minutes, and a fully charged battery will die after 2-3 days with the TomTom GPS TURNED OFF.
So, if you want to be like me and have a hundred dollar paperweight after purchasing it only 10 months ago, buy this GPS for yourself, or even as a gift! Otherwise, I would avoid this manufacturers products entirely.

p.s. TomTom customer service, if you are reading this, my case number for the facts in this review is 091006-000350. I would not want anyone to think I was making any of this up.
