 Not worth the moneyAug 27, 2009
This stand sounded great and looked good in pictures, but what arrived was a piece of junk. Amazon shipped it in only the manufacturer's box with a shipping label, which didn't help matters of course. Besides the numerous dents in the top surface and the drawer from shipping, the tracks for the drawer are uneven, as other reviewers have noted, and the studs to attach the legs are very short (included wingnuts were a pain to get on, and I'm tempted to put lock-tight on them to make sure they'll stay put). I whipped out a hammer and pliers to try and fix the tracks and the dents, but didn't get very far. The drawer works now, but it hangs crooked, and there are still visible dents on the stand from shipping. By the way, the paint scrapes off easy, so be careful if you try to fix yours as I did and have some black touch-up paint on hand. Overall, not worth $40 in my mind. Its more like a $10 item, even without the shipping dents. If you still really want one, I suggest you buy one at a store and visually inspect the item for dents and the drawer tracks prior to purchase. I wanted the large mesh surface so I could put a laptop with docking station on it and get some airflow, which this stand does provide, but I think next time I'll just get an actual laptop stand (NOT MESH and not shipped from Amazon).

Terrible Quality, Great DesignAug 13, 2009
As many of the other reviews describe, the manufacturing quality of this stand is pretty horrendous: Much of the metal on the drawer tracks are bent (one which shipped un-welded) and the drawer itself had one side welded slightly crooked such that it was wider than the front of the stand making it impossible to pull out after you have forced it closed. I took a file to the protruding part of the drawer and shaved it down to the width of the other (properly attached) side. I then used a soldering iron to solder the part of the drawer track which was unattached to the place where it should have been welded. These modifications made, the stand works well and the drawer is functional (although slightly flimsy). I place my Dell Adamo in the drawer, my LCD screen on top, and my peripherals (ext hdd, tv tuner, etc) underneath for a VERY organized workspace. After a lot of looking, I have found this to be the best DESIGNED monitor stand, if only it could have been better made...

Stand was easiy to put together, but the slats for the drawer were all bent and will not bend back. So my drawer barely goes in and out, and when it does, it just falls out of the slats. Though the stand works great for my 22 inch monitor.

Rolodex 82412 Wire Mesh Large Monitor Stand, 18 7/16w x 14 3/8d x 4 11/16h - I was having trouble with my HP ZD7260US laptop overheating. In nine years I have had to put in two harddrives. This product has proven to be exactly what this particular model of laptop needs. By being totally surrounded by air the overheating has virtually disappeared. I am extremely pleased with the construction of the stand and it looks great on my desk.

THe stands themselves are pretty good. They are a little big but I wanted the drawer and only the large had it. I would give more stars but every one I received was bent in some way. I've gone through three of them and finally gave up returning it. The main part of stand is a mesh type metal which looks nice but seems to be easily bent before it arrives. Besides that, they are very solid and look pretty nice.
