 TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICENov 05, 2009
I bought this unit in July 09, expecting it has the most recent map update, after getting lost due to its terrible directions, I discovered that it has an older map version.
I called the company, after being on hold many minutes and being passed around; I was told that I had to purchase the 09 map update. I told them how ridicilous this sounded, since I purchased the unit in 09 and that rightfully expect that the unit should have new maps; they curtly said this is their policy, and that was that...
Save yourself time & money; buy a Garmin! Better service...

Had a real good opportunity to use my Magellan 4200 to attend a wedding out of state. Put in the address of the church and within 5 hours of driving time arrived at our destination without any trouble. Love it and plan to use it every time we travel to unfamiliar places. Never have to worry about getting lost and the extra features are great when traveling long distances.Listings of restaurants and gas stations, hotels and motels are all available on the Magellan. Don't leave home without it!!

I bought this for my daughter. The reciept was from another Amazon purchaser, so without jumping thru hoops, getting a map update would be a pain. The display has a water mark on the screen, not enought for me to have to pay return shipping charges to roll the dice and get another one. It is what it is.

This is my 2nd Magellan I've bought because my 1st one I bought for myself was always missing from its spot in my home. My 2 daughters, 19 & 23 live with me. Need I say more? Some one was always using "The Nav".
I bought the same name brand because we love the color, the clarity of the voice, the little "Ding-ding" when to make a turn. The menu was easy to use without reading directions - it's basically plug it in, turn it on, add address and go!
The price was perfect for our needs - being directions to locations! And Amazon delivery service is superb! Every household should have this Nav.
