The 4.3-inch backlit widescreen touchscreen gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

 Junk - won't even recognize the US zipcodesMar 03, 2010
I bought this unit from Amazon in good faith thinking it will be a great value for the money. I have to say that despite what the "quick start manual" says, the unit does not understand the postal codes even in the U.S.! I am not new to GPS navigation and had a couple of other units before, all of them (even the entry-level ones) did take zip codes as addresses.
Also, the unit always wants me to enter a full address. Other navigation packages let me just enter the zip or city name and go to the city center as an option. Not with this one. What if I don't know any address in a town, and just want to explore it by visiting a city center? I cannot do this.
I am sorry to say but I am returning this unit after playing with it for about 30 minutes, and finding that its usability level is terrible.

trouble acquiring the satelitesDec 29, 2009
Bought the unit in Janurary 2008 and it started to give problems locating the satelites after about one year of use. Now it usually takes 10 - 20 minutes to locate the satelites, but many times it failed to connect at all and I had to reboot the unit several times when I was driving. I always tried to turn the unit on in an open place, but never know if it is going to give me problem or not -- I just can't count on it. I'm going to buy a new one from a different brand.

I bought this GPS for my always-lost girlfriend, and so far it has been a big disappointment. It is easy enough to use, and it helps her get to her destination when it works. The problem is that it takes forever to find the satellites and sometimes never does. It's so bad, that she usually doesn't bother to use it, making it useless.
I regret not returning the unit.

This product worked great when I first purchased it, but right around the 1 year mark it stopped acquiring the satellites reliable. Sometimes it would take up to 20 minutes before it would acquire them, and occasionally it wouldn't acquire them at all. In my opinion, working only 1 year before beginning to fail is unacceptable. Without the ability the acquire the signal, this product is useless. Would not buy again.

I bought this for my wife( don't tell her I mentioned this)who is a little directionally challenged, she thinks its GREAT!!! I have used it a few times and it's easy to use, touch screen is easy to use even in DC traffic.
